Elixar Events Ltd will return to Burgess Park for its second year this September from Saturday the 14th – Sunday the 15th, and bring two shows to Burgess Park: Jazz Café Festival and Maiden Voyage. At the moment, there is nothing planned on the Friday.
Saturday (12:00 – 22:30)
Sunday (12:00 – 22:00)
Running since 2019, the event is the brainchild of the programmers behind the Jazz Café in Camden. Held at Three Mills Green in Bow in 2019, then moved to Lee Valley Showground, where it has been held for the last 3 years, 2023, 2022 and 2021. Elixar Events Ltd would like to move Maiden Voyage to Burgess Park for the 2024 installment to create a more intimate setting for its loyal attendees. The audience demographic for the event is 25 – 35 years old, with a female to male split of 50/50.
Operating in North London as one of the city's most iconic venues. Owned and run by Elixar Events Ltd, Jazz Café incorporates sounds that celebrate House and Disco along with Classic Soul, Latin and Neo-Soul, along with nights that pay homage to the likes of Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, A Tribe Called Quest, to name a few. Jazz Café will embark on its first outdoor festival show in Burgess Park, South London, this September. The audience demographic for the event is 18-40 years old, with a female to male split of 50/50.
Both event days will utilize 4 music stages with performances from an impressive range of DJs and live acts. The target audience capacity for both days will be 14,500.
To ensure the safety of the local residents, park users, spectators and contractors alike, the event site at Burgess Park will not be accessible to the public at the following times:
Security teams are onsite 24/7 over the duration of the build, live and break periods. The wider Burgess Park will remain open.
We will devote significant resources to minimising the impact of noise. We do this in the way we engineer our sound systems and how we closely monitor and supervise our stages and off-site noise levels.
We are working with specialist acoustic consultants – F1 Acoustics . More information can be found on their website - https://www.f1acoustics.com/
A Noise Management Plan has been produced in liaison with Southwark’s Environmental Protection Team to ensure that any noise impact is kept to a minimum. F1 will monitor noise levels throughout the event, both within the site and at agreed points adjacent to residential properties.
If you experience any nuisance caused by noise during the event, please call the Community Hotline (02031 374 305 ). Please note that the number will only be live on event dates. During the build and break, if you wish to contact us please email us on burgessparkevents@columbostar.com

A detailed Traffic Management Plan has been prepared by Event People, a specialist traffic management company. This plan includes the deployment of event directional signage and pedestrian route signage and the creation of dedicated pick-up and drop-off (PUDO) point for taxis and other cars
We have no planned road closures for the events taking place. Including the Pick Up and Drop off area, as no residents live on these roads.
A Suspension of the parking bays on Neate Street will be in place for our taxi Pick Up and Drop Off (PUDO), as shown in the map below. Times for these suspensions will run from,
Residents will be able to access and ravel along Neate Street as usual. The PUDO will only use the parking bays lane along the length of the road
A dedicated cleansing team will be in place with the sole responsibility of clearing litter outside the event site in the areas of the park, including roads and pavements where event attendees travel. A separate cleansing team is in place to keep the inside of the event site clean during the festival. Regular checks will be made and a site handover will be completed when the event site is dismantled with Southwark’s Events and Parks officers to ensure they are happy with the cleaning of the park.
If you see a build-up of litter due to the event, please feel free to inform us so our litter-picking team are able to respond. Please call the community hotline on 02031 374 305
